The Army march towards 2012
We’ve been planning it for a while, a refresh you could call it. A new logo, a new site, a new outlook… It was time for the Army to get an update, a makeover.
Logo

Thanks to the very skilled Greg (@auspanda), we now have this wonderful new logo, enough said!
Website
In conjunction with the new logo, we thought the site could do with a new theme, something a bit more cleaner. Hence the end product.
We did remove Facebook logins, *cue the groans*, however we have enabled “anonymous” comments for articles. This simply requires you to submit your name/email in order to post, easy! If you have registered previously (either for the blog or forums) your login is still valid.
Rebel Army Blue Membership
As you might be aware, the Rebel Army and the RaboDirect Melbourne Rebels have teamed up to offer a Rebel Army Blue membership for season 2012. We’re thrilled to announce this new “partnership” between us and the Rebels, and all of the Army should be proud that the club has chosen to acknowledge us in such a way, as it speaks to your efforts throughout the year. As a special bonus to the Rebel Army Blue, we intend on using it to provide special offers from our supporters to our members, so stay tuned for more information.
If you’ve already renewed or purchased your Blue membership, you can swap to a Rebel Army Blue membership. Just email the Rebels at memberships@melbournerebels.com.au and they’ll take care of everything.
Remember, ALL MEMBERS are welcome to join in the Army’s activities on game day, regardless of whether you are a Rebel Army Blue member. Friends and GA ticket-holders are also welcome, subject to agreement with our codes of conduct, and to capacity.
Forum
This has been hit/miss over the journey, due to the popularity & ease of Facebook/Twitter.
We decided to deploy a full forum system, opposed to a plugin. As mentioned above we’ve disabled Facebook logins, however if you had a “registered” login previously, you can use this in the new forum.
Another encouraging feature is the ability to use the smartphone app Tapatalk to access the forum on the go!
We have a lot more new and exciting things to unveil in the coming weeks.
However we are always interested in your news or ideas, so get in the forums and contribute.
