The Army in Geelong

UPDATE: The Army have been allocated Bay 3 at Simonds Stadium.

It has been a long time between drinks, but finally the wait is over. In just a month, on Friday Feb 3, we’ll get to see Our Boys in Blue take on the Chiefs from Waikato, at Geelong’s Simmonds Stadium.

Below are the details on how you can join supporters in our first “away” trip of the season.

Transport

Supporters will be meeting at Turf Bar from about 12:30pm and enjoying a few beers. Departing by foot at approximately 1:15pm, we’ll arrive at Southern Cross for a 2:00pm train to South Geelong.

Tickets can be purchased from VLine for $14.40 return.

The return leg departs at 10:30pm, arriving back at Southern Cross about 11:45pm.

Pregame

We’ve selected the Lord of the Isles Tavern (just off the Princess Hwy) as our pregame venue. It has a good selection of beers and a pretty good beer garden (local advice).

Provided the train arrives on time, we should get there shortly after 3pm, 2.5-3 hours before kick off.

At the Game

We want to see as many supporters, standing, singing songs and getting involved for the full 80 minutes.

The Army have been allocated Bay 3 in the north-west corner of Simonds Stadium. Entry is via the Bob Davis (west) gate. See the map below also.

should have gone for the terraced standing area……

It’s up the back though. It might have seats, but it will still be a terrace and closer to the action.
