Melbourne Rebels show their true colours (Membership, logo & jersey unveiled)

by Rebel Army

After a long wait, Victorian Rugby fans will suffer no more. It’s been 10 months since the 15th Super Rugby license was awarded to the Melbourne Rebels, and we can finally unveil the most important aspects of any sporting team, the logo and jersey. Items which identify our much beloved team.

Memberships are also just as important, giving you more then just access to the games, allowing you to become the lifeblood of the club.

It was always safe assumption that the packages originally offered in a marketing survey (sent out earlier this year), were never indicative of what was truly going to be on offer, however we are a bit disappointed that there are no special offers or concessions for current weary members, and VRU club players and their families.

*Please note, those who registered to participate in the Rebel Army supporter group, should purchase a Category D membership.
Although this doesn’t contain a range of premium features, it does offer excellent value for money, while still allowing you to actively support the Rebels from behind the goals (most likely the Yarra River end) with other die hard Rebels fans.

Without further a due, herewith the details:

Melbourne Rebels Membership Options:

The Melbourne Rebels officially launched their membership packages for all eight (8) home games to be played at AAMI Park in 2011.! There are four membership categories, as well as a $1850.00 per annum package linked to the Weary Dunlop Rugby Club and a Supporter Package for the out of towners.

  1. Hmmm… these packages don’t look as good second time round. I seem to remember earlier talk of playing jerseys in the packages, but this seems to have been replaced with scarves and polo shirts? Also, paying at least $53 a game just to be seated in line with the field of play (i.e. not behind the posts or behind the try line) is getting a little tough to swallow…
I’m hoping there’s going to be extras included in membership deals released tomorrow…

  2. $430 minimum for a reserved seat in the field of play sucks.

Not buying, sorry, if you want support price it better.

I’ll keep paying for a Chiefs membership and fly there instead.

  3. I do not think I will become a member, I will just buy general admission tickets. I doubt they will cost $80 for a game. If they do then I will again have to look at moving to Brisbane to see some rugby union. Was hoping for better deals etc.

Was also looking at buying a Rebels jersey but not in that design. I will just have to keep wearing the old rebels blue and white stripped jersey.

  4. I think people need to stop whining and realize that if you want the best seats, you have to be prepared to pay for them.

Did people honestly think they were going to get smack bang at the half way line for $40 a match?

Why would you want to sit there anyway, all the fun is going to be at the Yarra River end.

  5. I too thought the membership was a bit high, think I will stick to purchasing tickets on game day.
Would have thought that Victoria Rugby would have factored that Melbourne have another 3 codes of major sports competition to contend with.
I for one can not take up memebrships @ all codes , so have chosen to stick to AFL membership instead.
