Aims & Purposes

he Rebel Army is a supporter group, "by the fans, for the fans", operating independent of the Melbourne Rebels franchise and Victorian Rugby Union, yet we exist to compliment and raise awareness of both groups in effort to create the strongest possible Victorian Rugby community.

"By the fans, for the fans" : The most prominent feature will be match day support, via a large and loud presence at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium. We aim to offer a unique match day experience, by blending together elements from European Soccer (singing/chants) and Aussie Rules supporter groups (large banners/signs).

Our ultimate goal is to grow the Rebels brand (and the game of Rugby Union itself) through off field activities such as social engagements (eg. pub gatherings), online discussion (eg. internet forum), rugby events (eg. TryRugby, social games, community donations), and in doing so create a strong foundation of support for generations of Rugby tragics to come.

For us, the Rebel Army, the Melbourne Rebels and Victorian Rugby are one. This is the passion that drives us!
